Arizona Superlatives

We spent 11 short months in Arizona and managed to tour quite a bit of this beautiful state.  While it’s not the place we want to settle, we enjoyed our time here and explored as often as possible.  Here are a few of my favorite experiences just in case you ever make it out this way (and you certainly should)!

Favorite Hike: Bright Angel to Phantom Ranch, Grand Canyon National Park

Other Great Hiking: Sabino Canyon 7 Falls Trail, Saguaro National Park West or East, Carr Canyon, Miller Peak, I’m missing so many, this entire state is filled with great hiking!

Favorite Flora: Saguaro Cacti

Best Brunch: Loew’s Ventana Canyon, Tucson

Best Bloody Mary: Hotel Congress, Tucson

Favorite Local Wineries: Sonoita Vineyards, Lightning Ridge, Kief Joshua
Place I Wish we Knew About 6 Months Ago: La Cocina Restaurant, Downtown Tucson; the live music and adorable courtyard made me feel like I was on vacation.
Favorite In-State Road Trip: Grand Canyon & Sedona

Favorite Hokey Tourist Stop: Tombstone

Best Destination for Hippies: Bisbee, AZ

Favorite Picnic Spot: San Pedro River

Must-See Museums: Pima County Air & Space, Desert Museum

Favorite Local Fare: El Guero Canelo’s Sonoran Hot Dog, Tucson

Favorite Vegan Fare: Poco, Bisbee, AZ

Favorite Kayaking Spot: Parker Canyon Lake

Favorite City Getaway: Scottsdale, while there you must stop by DeFalco’s Italian Deli, amazing!

So, Arizona, it’s been fun but we are on to the next adventure!
